Tooth decay occurs when the bacteria in your mouth metabolises the sugar in your diet and produces acid. At Manly Smiles, almost all of the fillings we do will be white fillings. We rarely use amalgam, however amalgam is a safe material. This fact has been proven again and again by the world’s most reputed research institutions. However, not all tooth decay needs to be treated by fillings.
